#Metoo is difficult to prove due to lack of evidence unless documented. Many cases are hearsay, pitching one against the other. Powerful people have the ways & means to defend themselves, while accusers are left to fend for themselves. On the flipside, some people might take this as an easy way to get back at others for not agreeing/accepting/giving into their demands.
But the fact that multiple accusers are coming forward to stake their honour, lives & reputation should give them enough credibility to the allegations.
Courts are not in a position to offer justice. One way forward is to,
1. Official complaint with Women's Commission that can link accused to multiple accusers(legally under oath)
2. Have the claims officially investigated
3. Public Shame - Media, Social media(aftermath)
4. Hit Livelihood - Layoff, cancellations, disbarments(punishment)
--->
5. Offer redemption by accepting guilt & apologising publicly(goal)
6. Some formal & apt punishment
Any frivolous complaints that doesn't have proofs, multiple accusers, enough evidence & deemed superfluous need to be dealt with firmly & the accusers penalized for their actions.
Hopefully, these exposures result in,
* Awareness of these issues
* Courage to stand up & not accept this behaviour
* Respecting others
* Drawing boundaries
* Controlling desires
if NOT,
* Putting the fear of Law & God into the heart of future perpetrators.
